 2 tsp xanthan gum
 2 tbsp baking powder
 2 tsp baking soda
 4 tsp sugar
 1 tsp salt
 6 tbsp shortening
 6 tbsp butter or margarine
 1 ¼ cups milk or milk alternative
 ½ cup butter
 ½ cup brown sugar
 ½ tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350°.

Combine dry ingredients in a medium bowl.** Using a pastry blender or your hands, cut in shortening and butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk and work gently until dough forms a ball. Cut biscuits.

Combine cinnamon and sugar in a bowl. Melt butter in another bowl.
Dip both sides of the biscuit in butter. Dip one side in cinnamon sugar. Place (cinnamon sugar side up) on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 10 - 15 minutes (until bottom edges are browned).
