This recipe is one I found online and adapted. It tastes a lot like a really soft sugar cookie and is perfect for that "pastry" craving.

Prep Time30 minsCook Time8 minsTotal Time38 mins
 ½ cup margarine
 1 cup sugar
 1 tsp vanilla
 1 eggs
 1 cup sour cream
 1 tsp citrus soda
 2 ½ tsp baking powder
 1 tsp salt
1

Beat the vanilla and egg together. Then add the sour cream and Soda. Sift the dry ingredients into this. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Chill the dough in your fridge overnight (or for at least four hours)

2

Roll small pieces of the dough into long strips and form them into a figure eight (like a pretzel) Put them back in the fridge for about an hour.

3

Bake in a 450 degree oven for about 6- 8 min. They should be a light brown when you remove them.

4

Hint: putting them in the fridge will not only make the dough easier to work with, but will also give them more flavor.

5

Top with either cream cheese frosting, Jelly, or custard.

6

Extra: You can also have nuts, orange flavoring, berries, or butterscotch to the dough to give it a different type of flavor.
